This is why I only collect and sell the best original American made brands of mess kits and canteens like:
Palco, Mirro, Regal, Open Country,
Landers Frary & Clark (Universal).
Why those particular brands? Those are the true leaders of the industry and all of them make almost identical, highest quality kits. These are not the cheap "knock-off" kits that were primarily sold at discount stores (although K-Mart and some others did sell them), these were the companies that were making them under contract for The Boy Scouts, The Girl Scouts as well as variants for the US Military and also home cook ware.
I don't just specialize in the best brands, the items I sell are in the absolute best condition, with most in New Old Stock (NOS) condition in the original box and sealed packaging. So yeah, I sell brand new stuff that is up to 75 years old, and this is why my prices may look a bit high. These items come at a premium when you only want the best; it is not easy for me to even find these items in such great original condition.
Unfortunately, that quality comes at a price, but true purist collectors and campers like me know that these items are worth it. Besides, anything you purchase from me is returnable if you don't like it! That's right, if you receive your item and it doesn't meet your expectations for any reason, you can return it for a full refund with no questions asked! Why do I offer hassle free returns and refunds? I only sell the best condition and quality and I am confident that you will absolutely love any item you buy from me.

5/5: Excellent, New Old Stock, As New Condition, Unused.
4/5: Very Good, Almost New, Signs of very light use.
3/5: Good, Many signs of use, Many small imperfections.
2/5: Fair, but usable, signs of Heavy use, dents, tears, flaws.
1/5: Poor, Unusable, damaged to being non functional.
